A special post
Happy Birthday to my good friend Ruby!
God is so wise that he never created friends with price tags. If He did, I wouldn’t have been able to afford a precious friend like you. I hope that your day is blessed with happiness and joy.
:)
Aye aye captain!
My long awaited vacation is finally booked! Arcot and I will be sailing away to the Caribbean in November! Yayyyy!! *crowd cheers* Super stoked and really looking forward to this sun, sand and surf destination! We’ll be hitting up San Juan, St.Thomas, Tortola, Antigua, Dominica, and Barbados! *big grin*
Snorkeling, sun, dolphins, beach, white sand, buffets, rainforest, zipline, corals…..Ooooo…I can’t wait!
Boys will be boys
James showed me this yesterday night and thought it was the funniest thing…I must say it’s quite clever. They sure know the way to a girl’s heart…whoever marketed this card got their target market bang on.
Btw…for those who are still stuck on why this card is funny…it’s an “I miss you” card :)
Another Brockhouse wedding
This time around we were the guests at Barry + Didi’s wedding at Brockhouse – congrats to the newly weds!
Is summer here yet?
Apparently if I don’t update soon…someone will “unfollow” me. Humph! Well…as an act to prevent this from happening, here I am! :)
It has been crazy busy at work…and crazy is clearly an understatement…i have seriously considered about quitting (no joke). But after much frustration, tears, argument, stress and talks…I have decided to WAIT AND SEE. Thankfully this week has been much better on top of the other good news I got. God really does answer prayers! So the other good news is that ICBC gave the other person 100% at fault for the car accident last month! I have to say that was such a relief! The accident was obviously his fault when he backed up and hit my car.
Recently I have been thinking about my goals and how I don’t really set out to accomplish any goals in my life or the year for that matter…and as corny as it sounds, I don’t want to wait until I am 40 and have a whole bucket list of “things I want to do”. While I am still “young” (ahem), I should really take advantage of this time. I don’t have a list yet…but I aim to get one started by next week! Hmmm…….skydiving, marathon, learn a new language?? *ponders* I’ll share what I have decided on my next blog! :)
And last but not least, congrats to A on her new Aritzia job! I am so proud of you and I can’t wait for your discount…heehee…shopping…weeeee!
Up, up and away!
I have a recent thirst and hunger for going away on a vacay and whaddya know….…I am going to Winnipeg next week! No, this is not MY vacation…this is for work…boooo…and to make it even worse, I am going to Altona, Winnipeg. For those who don’t know where Altona is…please Google it! LOL…its WAY DOWN south of Winnipeg…soooooo down south that I can just cross the border to North Dakota or Minnesota! Gee golly what fun! *please note sarcasm* This would be my 2nd time in Altona and I am guessing my worse. Doing 24 hour press checks there and I heard it’s quite the work. The only consolation I am somewhat looking forward to is the shopping which I hope I get to do on my way home at the Polo Park shopping centre and getting Easter Monday off.
See you in a week?
Or if I am SUPER bored and there’s internet, perhaps I’ll blog?
Thursday ramblings
Took some time this morning to reread all my posts since the start of this blog and I realized that my previous posts were meatier in content, whereas nowadays it’s more image based. Perhaps I am too lazy to write…like I have always said, I am not a writer. Which leads me to my other point, after taking the Media Relations course at BCIT; I realize that my passion is in graphics and not communications. Although I learned lots about writing a press release, media advisory and news release…I worry more about my writing style than the actual content. I am not one to add fluff, pizzazz and words you need to look up in the dictionary for the common reader – I just don’t have that creative vocabulary in me. I really admire writers who can do that though…you read as if you are one of the characters in the story… engaging you into their story… (this reminds to find a good book to read, any recommendations?) But seeing how this is my weakness, I should really try to improve on this – off to the library it is! You know what they say…the more you read, the better you write.
Anyhoo…just came back from my lunch walk and picked up an ice cap on the way…this little concoction from Timmy’s is evil…so evil that it added 360 calories to my calorie count today! Not that I am really counting…but I guess I should have went with a small?? In my defense, it was a gorgeous sunny day outside, almost summer weather….so it only seemed right to sip on a smooth and creamy ice cap to wrap my lunch? Mind you, I had a green salad for lunch which totally gave me room for some extra calories – so there, I shouldn’t feel guilty… (okay, maybe just a little) :P
For the past while, many people have asked me, “how’s married life”? And somehow my answer is usually, “ummm..it’s about the same, don’t see much difference”. This might be jarring to some, but in reality it is. My lifestyle hasn’t really changed – I still get to do the stuff I enjoy. I also get to cook! :) I find it fun to cook especially when what you made is yummy – a sense of satisfaction that your hard work didn’t go to waste. Arcot’s been really good at doing the dishes since he knows I did all the cooking…and I really do appreciate it :) – thanks LG!
Coral
I have a recent love for coral…it’s bright, fun and cheery and it’s the perfect color to replace the winter blues (which I hope will be gone soon!). During lunch today I picked up a Begonia plant in coral! Love, love, love! This little fellow is going home to meet a new friend – Mr. Orchid….which happens to be thriving very well. I may have found the perfect spot to keep my botany collection alive and well :)
Say hello to Miss Begonia
